
Funeral of 485 heirless dead bodies :
Manav Jyot institute Bhuj performs funeral process of heirless dead bodies. Total 485 such dead bodies are cremated so far. The persons wandering on roads of Kachchh as well as any unknown hospitalized person when found dead, the process of cremation is carried out as per rituals after the due legal procedure carried out by the police department.

318 Yong Women Saved…Sent Back to their Homes
Offended from home, young women occasionally reach Bhuj. Security of such women is of great concerned. If they wander in the city, they may become victim of sexual harassment. Due to domestic violence, mental harassment, love affair etc. reason and out of anger many women leave their home without any direction and destination. When informed, Manav Jyot institute first shifts such women in a secure place and provide shelter. Then enquire to find their native and family. Then they are sent back to their homes and reunited with their families.

185 Missing Children Searched out at State and National Level :
When the community and government is concerned about missing of children, Manav Jyot institute Bhuj has searched around 185 missing children so far. Any single/alone child found out by Manav Jyot on the roads of Bhuj reached by way of bus, truck or train transport; the enquiry is carried out for the native and family of such children. Children reach Bhuj due to various reasons viz by mistake, feel offended in the family, escaped from kidnappers etc. The scene, when Manav Jyot handover the child to its family, is indescribable. The affected family and the child become so happy! The institute continuously collects the information regarding missing children and probe for the same.

- Every year during hot summer, 15000 water pots for birds are distributed.
- 10,000 Chakli Ghar (Home for Sparrows) are distributed every year.
- Every day, fodder to cows, grains to birds, Rotla to dogs and flour to fishes and ants distributed.
- 300 cement water tanks are made available in the city. So that mother-cows may get relief in hot summer.
- For dogs also, every year 6000 cement pots are made available to quench their thirst.

Extra and unused food from the big functions satisfies hunger of 2.5 Lakh people in a single year :
Extra and unused food is collected from various Samaj Vadi (community halls) and distributed to the poor. The vehicle of the institute with big containers approaches to various community halls and collects the food. Approximately 2.5 lakh people get benefit every year from this activity. Food wastage is stopped as well as utilized for the poor. Now, such community halls voluntarily call Manav Jyot after the function is over to collect the food.
The leftover cooked food of the function/party is being sent at the place of poor people’s huts/zopda.

155 Old Persons Sent Back to their Homes
Many old men and women reach Bhuj somehow. They wander in city or nearby villages. Manav Jyot institute takes such person to the office and enquires sympathetically. Total 155 such old persons are sent back to their homes and reunited with their families.
325 wandering and mentally ill and handicap persons have been sent to their homes with proper care.

- 331 handicaps were given tricycles.
- 7548 persons were given bus/train fair to reach their home.
- Unused medicines are collected and distributed free of cost to 50 patients daily through Manav-Jyot Drug Bank.

- For stopping the blame of plastic bags and Zabla, seen every where on roads etc places, 12 thousand cloth bags are distributed, for saving the life of Cows
- To save cows and to decrease plastic pollution, 12,000 cloth-bags are distributed every year.
- 300 cement water tanks are made available in the city. So that mother-cows may get relief in hot summer.

Home delivery of Tiffin to 100 Old Persons
Manav Jyot institute provides home delivery tiffin service to the old and needy people. Total 100 people having age of more than 70 years and residing all alone and uncared get food tiffin daily at their residence at sharp 11 am free of cost. Shravan Tiffin Service has reached 100 old and helpless people.
Alone and aged 100 people, irrespective of caste and creed, from Bhuj city are given food-tiffin free of cost on their doorsteps daily.

Activities throughout the year
Whatever may be the season i.e. winter, summer or monsoon Manav Jyot helps the needy. During winter nights, blankets are wrapped on the persons sleeping on the footpath or in gardens or anywhere and help to protect them from cold. These blankets are received as donations from various donors. During summer, cold, nutritious and delicious buttermilk is served between 12 to 3 pm to labors. The buttermilk is served to people dwelling in huts and slums also. During monsoon, plastic covering is given to the needy people dwelling in huts and slums to protect themselves from rainy water. All these activities are run with the help of donors only!

Literacy Drive for Child-Labors:
Manav Jyot works to spread literacy among wandering children as well as children working as labors. It has started schools at three different places in Bhuj. Children are given basic knowledge of Reading, Writing and Arithmetic. After achieving this, they are sent to nearby regular government schools in next educational year. Total 450 such students are enrolled in government schools and freed from child labor.
Children working as a waste-collector and earning 20-30 Rs per day are given basic education.

Manav Jyot plays Active Role During Disasters like Cyclone, Thunderstorm or Showers:
Manav Jyot has done wonderful job during thunderstorm and showers in Bhuj. 10,000 food packets were prepared in accordance with the forecast. The people, dwelling in lower part of the city, were provided shelter in nearby primary school buildings. The institute served food packets for 03 days. The institute prepared food packets after the forecast of Nilofar cyclone. Thus, the institute becomes a bridge or a chain to the affected people.

At the time of Chikungunya, the Institute stood with the People:
Manav Jyot institute played role of Santa Claus at the time of Chikungunya Epidemic and helped 65,000 people by providing Ayurvedic Medicine. The medicine was sponsored by Palanpur Banaskantha Jain Trust, Navsari.
Praiseworthy Work done by Manav Jyot at the time of Swine Flu Epidemic:
At the time of Swine Flu Epidemic, Manav Jyot did a splendid job and served Ayurvedic Medicine and Homeopathic Medicine to 1.25 lakh people in and around Bhuj from early morning. Students were given homeopathic medicine in various schools. The District Administration took note of the work and awarded the institute for the same.
- 313 widow women were given sewing machines.
- 36 women were saved from committing suicide.
- Constant search for such child-labors and literacy-donation. At present 150 children study in 03 schools.
- Wandering Kids are given footwears during summer.
- Buttermilk is served to the labors during summer.
- More and more tree plantations are done. Seeds of Limbedi (Neem) are sown.
- 185 missing children were searched out and were safely returned back to their families.
- At beginning of monsoon, plastic covers and such protection material are distributed in slum areas.
- At the beginning of winter, blankets are distributed in slum areas as well as to the people sleeping on the footpath
- Maximum tree-plantation is carried out every year. Also earthen pots are distributed to the poor and needy people to keep water cool in summer, every year.
Religious Trip for Old People– Thrice in year:
The old people, aged above 65 and economically weak, are taken on religious trip by Manav Jyot – Bhuj ever year. Each year, three such trips are organized to various religious places. The donors get ‘Poony’ (virtue) for the same. The travelers feel very happy and gratitude. People are requested to take such virtuous opportunity and donate generously.
24 infants found:
The institute has found 24 deserted infants from 22 incidents. Such infants are found from roadside thorn fencing, under bridge and unmanned areas. Out of 24, 12 infants are saved whereas 12 are found dead!
The Institute followed Human-Religion at the Time of Accidents
At midnight or early in the morning, when an accident occurs in and around Bhuj or on highways and if any human casualties happen, Manav Jyot runs to serve. Many a times it becomes very difficult to collect dead body from the accident site because of its pieces and crushed status. Receiving the call, the institute runs through its ambulance. After the police procedure is over, the mashed dead body is wrapped in a cloth and taken to the post-mortem room of G. K. General Hospital, Bhuj. The institute takes utmost care to save dead body from the wild animals. In the cases of suicide also, the volunteers have handled dead bodies hanged on a fan or anywhere after the police procedure is done and taken to G. K. General Hospital, Bhuj for postmortem. 48 dead bodies including man, women, youth, young women etc. are taken out from Hamirsar Lake of Bhuj by Manav Jyot. In many cases the institute and the police department becomes complementary to each other.
Unique Service for Mentally Retarded People:
Mentally retarded people found wandering on the roads of Kachchh, who don’t have any family member or relative, are brought to Shri Ramdev Sevashram. First, they are made physically clean by cutting hair, shaving, bathing, new cloths etc. Then they are given food times in a day, every day. They are provided best medical treatment needed.
They are entertained by playing with ball and rings, yoga, music etc. Due to the good treatment they get their memory back. The native and family of such persons are found out and they are reunited to their family. When the meeting occurs after 2-5-10-15 years, everybody sheds tears of happiness.
From Shri Ramdev Sevashram, run by Manav Jyot with the blessings of Jalaram Bapa, 275 such mentally disturbed people were sent back to their home in just last two and half year. What a great work for Humanity! The number of such people wandering on the roads of Kachchh is decreasing day by day. Total 835 such mentally disturbed people were sent back to their homes. For such a noble work of humanity the cooperation and financial support is needed from the society.
104 Students got Training for Social Work:
104 students enrolled in various universities of Gujarat for the course of Master of Social Work stayed for one month and work with Manav Jyot Bhuj. They got real training and live experience for social work. They will surely spread the spirit of Manav Jyot all over the state. The trainees from Patan and Palanpur colleges have achieved their goals. Thus, the activities carried out by Manav Jyot has reached in many other cities. The fame of work has crossed all the boundaries and reached to national level. The government has also taken note for the same.
